And What I found Instead
I’ve always known that I needed to feel happy and fulfilled in order to thrive. From a young age, I wasn’t someone who chased after big titles or paychecks, I was always chasing meaning. In college, I explored different paths, trying to find something that combined purpose with stability. I dabbled in business and other courses because that’s what people said would lead to a solid career. But none of it felt right. It all felt stiff, stressful, and disconnected from who I really was.
I dropped out of college for a couple of years to regroup and figure things out. During that time, I remembered how much I loved art. I had always been creative growing up, especially when it came to drawing and visual expression. I had taken a couple of graphic design classes in high school and excelled, but I hadn’t realized at the time how those skills could turn into a career. So when I went back to college, I pursued graphic design and added a minor in digital marketing to cover my bases. I ended up loving both.
After graduating, I gained experience in various areas of digital marketing. I interned and eventually landed a full-time role at a decent-sized company. I’m incredibly grateful for those opportunities. They gave me structure, skills, and insight into the professional world. But over the years, I found myself dreading work. I was burned out, my mental health declined, and I realized that spending the majority of my life in a role that drained me just wasn’t sustainable.
I didn’t want to climb the corporate ladder. I didn’t aspire to be a CEO. That kind of ambition just wasn’t mine, and I finally stopped feeling bad about it. I knew I needed purpose, creativity, and connection in my work. I knew that the corporate world wouldn’t give me that. So I made the bold decision to walk away with no backup plan, just belief in my experience and drive.
That’s how I found myself here. I get to write and design for small businesses and real people who are trying to grow something meaningful. It’s not just about making money, it’s about making a difference.
I want to help people feel seen, supported, and successful in their own way. If you’re trying to build something meaningful, I’d love to help you bring it to life.
